RAB strengthens security to prevent crimes: DG

The Director General of RAB, Additional IGP AKM Shahidur Rahman, has stated that security measures have been strengthened across the country to prevent theft, snatching, murder, and robbery.
He mentioned that RAB, along with other law enforcement agencies, is conducting operations in various regions of the country to maintain law and order and combat crime.
He made these remarks after inspecting RAB’s patrols and checkposts in the Matuali area of Jatrabari around 2:00 am on Saturday.
The RAB Director General said that recently, some criminals and vested interest groups have been attempting to create panic among the public by deteriorating the law-and-order situation through attacks and sabotage. These groups have been involved in theft, snatching, robbery, extortion, and brutal assaults on the general public in various parts of the country. To combat these crimes, RAB is conducting operations in coordination with other law enforcement agencies across various regions.
He added that all RAB battalions are carrying out robust patrols in their respective areas of responsibility. Additional patrols are continuously deployed to ensure security in risky and critical areas.
The RAB Director General stated that coordination with other law enforcement agencies is maintained through their own control rooms in the battalions, and the security situation in Dhaka and across the country is constantly monitored.
