Video exhibition on July uprising, KUET clash today

To keep the memory of the July mass uprising alive, the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement will hold a nationwide video exhibition on Wednesday afternoon. The exhibition will also showcase videos of the attack on students at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET). The video exhibition will take place at 3:00 pm at the Student Teacher Centre (TSC) of Dhaka University and at educational institutions across the country.
The programme was announced by Hasnat Abdullah, the convener of the student movement, during a protest rally held at 10:00 pm on Tuesday, condemning the attack on students at KUET.
He said, "We want to keep the memory of the July Uprising alive. We do not want the general public to forget this uprising, nor do we want the rise of neo-fascism."
Hasnat further stated, "On Wednesday, video exhibitions of the July Uprising will be held nationwide. At the same time, videos of the attack at KUET will be shown."
Earlier on Tuesday afternoon, clashes occurred between Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) activists and students at KUET. Several individuals from both sides were injured in the incident.
Students and eyewitnesses reported that tensions had been building among KUET students regarding the formation of a committee for JCD. Amid these tensions, a procession demanding the closure of student politics was held. When the procession reached the Central Jame Masjid area, a confrontation occurred between the JCD and students, resulting in a chase.
