145 undocumented Bangladeshis return from Libya

A total of 145 undocumented Bangladeshis, detained at the Ganfuda Detention Centre in Benghazi, Libya, have returned to Bangladesh with the assistance of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
They arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 5:30 am on Thursday, aboard a flight from Libyan airline Buraq Air.
Most of the returnees had traveled to Libya with the intention of reaching Europe by sea, under the encouragement and assistance of human traffickers. Many of them had been victims of abduction and torture during their time in Libya.
A delegation led by Kazi Asif Ahmed, Minister (Political) at the Bangladesh Embassy in Libya, received the returnees at the Ganfuda Detention Centre and arranged for their return from Benina International Airport in Benghazi.
