Ex-CMP chief Saiful held in student murder

Former Chattogram Metropolitan Police, CMP, Commissioner Saiful Islam has been arrested in Dhaka.
The police arrested Saiful in the capital on specific allegations and he was being taken to Chattogram as he is an accused in a case there, Mohammad Rois Uddin, deputy commissioner (crime) of CMP, said on Wednesday, February 12.
Sources in CMP said Saiful has been apprehended in a case filed with the Chandgaon police station in Chattogram over the murder of a student during the Anti-Discrimination Students Movement in the port city in 2024.
