In reference to the ongoing Operation Devil Hunt across the country, Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury stated that no 'devil' should escape the hands of law enforcement agencies.

He made the remark on Tuesday during a workshop on "Implementing the Law, Emphasising Human Rights and the Environment in the Changing Situation of the Country," held at the Rajarbagh Police Auditorium in the capital.

Jahangir Alam stated, "One of the main objectives of the current interim government is to ensure the safety and security of people's lives and property. The government aims to bring fascists, criminals, anarchists, and terrorists to justice, ensuring exemplary punishment. While fascism has been eradicated, its associates continue to conspire against the government both domestically and internationally."

He added, "These individuals have wrongfully looted national resources and amassed vast illegal wealth. Those who opposed their actions were branded as traitors and harassed through false cases by party leaders and activists. They took control of the media, silenced human rights organizations, and created a loyal capitalist class to exploit resources. They undermined the independence of the judiciary and took control of the civil service and security forces."

The adviser further stated, "In short, the fascist government misused the entire state apparatus to remain in power. Now, they are using their illegally accumulated wealth from the past 16 years to create chaos and assert their position through dark forces. The government is determined to bring to justice terrorists responsible for the July-August killings, the special helmet forces involved in mass murder, fascists and their criminal associates, money launderers, looters, conspirators, and traitors, as well as those accused in corruption cases by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC)."
