BSF detains four Bangladeshis at Gomstapur border

The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) detained four Bangladeshis on Sunday night (February 2) at the Rokanpur border of Gomstapur in Chapainawabganj.
The arrests were made near the Rokanpur Ganj Border Outpost (BOP) located in Radhanagar Union of the upazila.
The detainees have been identified as: Md Mukul, son of Mahbul Islam from Radhanagar Union, Alish, son of Mosharraf, Durul Huda, son of Ishahak, and Md Babu, son of Moti.
According to Mukul's father-in-law, who spoke to Jago News, the border runs adjacent to Mukul's home. Around 9:00pm on Sunday, Mukul and three others ventured toward the border area. Local Indian residents apprehended them and handed them over to the BSF. "We received information via phone calls from some Indians," he added.
Distressed family members are now seeking assistance from local public representatives and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).
Radhanagar Union Parishad Chairman Md Matiur Rahman confirmed the incident, saying, "The BSF detained four Bangladeshis while they were attempting to enter India last night. They are residents of my union, and their families have approached me for help. We are currently in contact with the BGB to resolve the matter."
Efforts to get confirmation from Lt Col Mohammad Sadiqur Rahman, commander of the Naogaon-16 Battalion of BGB, about the detentions have so far been unsuccessful. Despite multiple attempts to reach him by phone, the commander did not respond.
