Justice Shahed resigns after tea invitation

In a significant development, Justice Shahed Nuruddin has tendered his resignation after being among the 11 judges who received controversial tea invitations from the Chief Justice.

These 11 judges are being barred from judicial duties.

On Thursday (January 30), Appellate Division Media Officer Md Shafiqul Islam confirmed this news to reporters.

Justice Nuruddin's decision comes in the wake of heightened tensions following the invitations. He submitted his resignation letter to the President through the Chief Justice, marking the end of his tenure on the bench.

Justice Shahed Nuruddin delivered the verdict in the case concerning the grenade attack on an Awami League rally held on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on August 21, 2004.
