Train passengers to receive refunds for canceled journeys

Passengers will receive a refund for tickets purchased prior to the cancellation of train journeys.

Rezaul Karim Siddiqui, the Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Railways, confirmed this on Tuesday (January 28).

He stated that although many of the demands of Bangladesh Railway's running staff had been met, they had not withdrawn from their previously announced strike. As a result, train services may experience disruptions starting today. If train journeys are canceled, tickets purchased earlier will be refunded by Bangladesh Railway.

Earlier, on Monday (January 27), after midnight, running staff did not board the scheduled trains, causing no trains to depart from the starting stations.
