2 ABT members held in Sherpur

Members of detective branch of police in drives arrested two Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) members at Chakpara area in Jhenaigati upazila of Sherpur district on Saturday early morning.

The arrestees were identified as Sajedul Islam alias Saddam, 27, son of Jamal Uddin, hailing from Chakpara village, and Aminul Islam, 20, son of Sharaf Ali of the village.

On Sunday, law enforcers produced them before the court.

Additional Superintendent of Police Md Salauddin said acting on secret information, DB conducted a drive at the village and arrested Saddam, a member of ABT from his house. On information of Saddam, DB members arrested Aminul from the area on Saturday early morning.

The duo is wanted in several cases.

Officer-in charge of District Detective Police Mahfuzur Rahman said a case was filed against two ABT members under Anti Terrorism Act-2009.
