Former NHRC chair Mizanur hospitalised

Mizanur Rahman, former chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), was hospitalised for treatment of blood infection and pneumonia on Sunday.

NHRC Public Relations Officer Farhana Syead said Mizanur Rahman has been suffering from blood infection and pneumonia and now taking medical attention at the ICU of Anwar Khan Medical College Hospital in Dhaka city, read a press release.

On Saturday, the present NHRC Chairman Kazi Reazul Hoque visited him at the hospital, according to the press release issued.

During the visit Reazul inquired about Mizanur’s health condition, urged the hospital to take proper care of him, and wished his predecessor a fast recovery.

Mizanur, a professor and former chairman of Dhaka University’s department of law, ended his tenure as the NHRC head on June 22 this year.
