6 bodies of July uprising martyrs still in DMCH morgue

The bodies of six people, who were martyred in the July-August mass uprising last year, are still lying in the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, DMCH, as their identities could not be confirmed.

Zahid Ahsan, cell secretary of the Anti-Discrimination Students' Movement, shared this information on Friday, January 10.

He said the special cell of the Anti-Discrimination Students' Movement inquired and learned that six bodies of martyrs from July mass uprising are still lying in DMCH morgue.

Today a team of the cell went to the Shahbagh police station to collect information in this regard and the officer-in-charge, Khalid Mansur, confirmed that the bodies are at the forensic department of DMCH, Zahid said.

Later, the special cell went to the DMCH and inspected the bodie which five are men and one is woman, he added.

The police said the victims were killed during the Anti-Discrimination Students' Movement but they could not provide details about when and from where these were brought to the facility, Zahid also said.

The Anti-Discrimination Students' Movement urged the interim government and the authorities concerned to identify the bodies and returned these to the respective families.
