Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin emphasised the Election Commission's commitment to conducting fair, transparent, and acceptable elections, stating, "Our goal is clear, and we have no doubts about achieving it."

He made these remarks during the inauguration of a day-long workshop titled "Challenges and Ways to Overcome the Voter Registration Process" held at the Bengal Convention Hall in Moulvibazar on Thursday (January 9).

The event was organized by the Election Commission Secretariat's Capacity Building (CBTEP) Project, focusing on the use of ICT in election processes.

The CEC firmly stated, “We are here to ensure fair and impartial elections, not to cater to any party, group, or individual.” Addressing the participants, he urged them to maintain neutrality, warning against biased behaviour: “You will not work in a biased manner in the upcoming elections. If you worked with bias earlier, you might have faced difficulties with your job. This time, the opposite will happen. Any partiality will result in consequences.”

He assured officials that the Election Commission would support those who act lawfully and uphold fairness, adding,

“If you follow the law, we can deliver a beautiful election as a gift to the nation.”

The workshop was presided over by Sylhet Region Regional Election Officer Mohammad Nurul Alam. Other notable attendees included: Md Moin Uddin Khan, Joint Secretary, Election Commission Secretariat, KM Ali Newaz, Additional Secretary, Muhammad Mostafa Hasan, Project Director, Md Israel Hossain, Moulvibazar Deputy Commissioner, and Nasir Uddin Patwari, District Election Officer.

The session highlighted the importance of unbiased conduct, efficient voter registration, and leveraging technology to ensure credibility in the electoral process.
