Reassessment of excluded candidates of 43rd BCS on Jan 9

The Ministry of Public Administration has announced a meeting on January 9 to reassess the applications of candidates excluded from the 43rd Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) recruitment due to negative remarks in intelligence reports.

A meeting notice issued on Sunday, January 5, revealed that out of 2,163 candidates recommended by the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC), recruitment notifications have been issued to 1,896 candidates. However, 227 candidates were excluded following negative intelligence reports.

The excluded candidates have submitted applications requesting a review of their recruitment status. The meeting, scheduled for January 9 at 11:30 am, will take place in the meeting room of the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration. Key attendees include additional secretaries from the Directorate General of Defence Intelligence (DGFI), the Directorate of National Security Intelligence (NSI), and officials from the Recruitment, Promotion, and Posting Division (APD).

On January 1, the excluded candidates staged a demonstration in front of the Secretariat, voicing their concerns and demanding a reconsideration of their cases. They also met with the Public Administration Secretary to present their grievances.

The Ministry of Public Administration addressed the issue on January 2, explaining the exclusions and announcing the opportunity for reconsideration applications. It clarified that the reconsideration process is open to all 227 excluded candidates, who submitted their applications for review on January 5.
