Dense fog in capital as winter intensifies
The severity of the cold has increased in the capital, along with the rest of the country. Dense fog was observed in various parts of the city from early Thursday morning, with some areas remaining shrouded in fog even after 10:00 am as the winter chill settled heavily over the entire city.
Over the past few days, several regions, including Dhaka, have experienced dense fog. However, today’s situation is noticeably different. To shield themselves from the cold, city dwellers headed to work this morning in heavy winter clothing.
According to the Meteorological Department, Dhaka recorded its lowest temperature of the season on Thursday at 13.8 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the country’s lowest temperature was recorded at 9.8 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga.
Meteorologist Shahinul Islam told Jago News that Dhaka’s temperature was 15 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. Within a day, it dropped by nearly 2 degrees. He added that the dense fog is intensifying the cold, and similar conditions are expected to persist tomorrow.
