Sarjis asks govt to prosecute massacre, control commodity prices

Sarjis Alam, a coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, has urged the interim government to prosecute the perpetrators of the July coup massacre and take immediate steps to control soaring commodity prices.

He made these demands during the "March for Unity" rally organized by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement at the Central Shaheed Minar on Tuesday (December 31) at 4:30 PM.

Sarjis stated, "We demand justice for the genocide committed during the July coup. We also insist on the recovery of smuggled funds, the stabilization of commodity prices, and proper medical care for the injured freedom fighters."

Emphasizing foreign relations, he added, "Our country must maintain friendly relations with all nations. However, if anyone tries to exploit us, we must resist and protect our sovereignty."

Addressing the attack on vehicles carrying participants to the rally, Sarjis expressed strong concern: "How could our comrades be attacked in Gopalganj? What is the administration doing? If there are conspiracies being hatched within the Secretariat, they must be uprooted completely."
