Moin elected DCAB president, Mamun gen secy

AKM Moinuddin, Special Correspondent for United News Bangladesh (UNB), and Md. Arifuzzaman Mamun, Diplomatic Correspondent for Amader Shomoy, have been elected as the President and General Secretary of the Diplomatic Correspondents Association, Bangladesh (DCAB) for 2025.

Ashiqur Rahman Apu, Chief of Correspondents at ATN News, has been elected Vice-President.

Unopposed winners include: joint secretary: Rubaet Hasan, Diplomatic Correspondent for Deepto TV, 

treasurer: Morshed Hassib Hasan, Diplomatic Correspondent for Channel 24, office secretary: Atiqur Rahman, Diplomatic Correspondent for Dainik Jababdihi, and executive members: Khurram Zaman, Diplomatic Correspondent for Amader Natun Somoy, Md Bashir Ahmed, Diplomatic Correspondent for Daily Amar Desh, Mizanur Rahman, Diplomatic Correspondent for Daily Manabzamin, Md Tanzim Anwar, Special Correspondent for BSS, Rased Mehedi, Editor of Views Bangladesh.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) and election were held on Tuesday.

Outgoing DCAB President and Dhaka Tribune Special Correspondent Nurul Islam Hasib presided over the AGM, where outgoing General Secretary Ashiqur Rahman Apu and Treasurer Atiqur Rahman presented their reports.

Chief Election Commissioner Shafiqul Karim announced the election results following vote counting, assisted by Nizam Ahmed, Business Editor for Daily Observer.
