Take steps to prevent fireworks during 31st Night: HC

The High Court, HC, has asked the law enforcers and authorities concerned to take strict measures to prevent the use of fireworks, firecrackers, and sky lanterns during New Year’s celebrations.

An HC bench passed the order on Tuesday, December 31.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police, DMP, Commissioner Sheikh Md Sajjat Ali deployed additional 3,000 police personnel in the capital to ensure comprehensive security for the new year celebrations.

Besides, there will be magistrates of the Department of Environment to conduct mobile courts to punish those who will breach the DMP directives that include not to use fireworks, firecrackers, and sky lanterns in open spaces.
