Govt to draft July Uprising proclamation on nat’l consensus
The interim government has announced plans to draft a proclamation commemorating the July Uprising, emphasising national consensus.
The declaration aims to strengthen the unity of the people, foster anti-fascist consciousness, and articulate the collective desire for state reform that arose from the uprising.
Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary, Shafiqul Alam, shared the information at a hurriedly arranged press briefing outside state guesthouse Jamuna on Monday night.
Shafiqul Alam stated that the proclamation will be formulated by incorporating the views of all involved parties, including students, political factions, and groups who contributed to the anti-discrimination student movement that spearheaded the mass uprising.
The document will reflect the essence of the July Uprising, its unifying foundations, and the aspirations of the people.
"We aim to ensure that the declaration is created through unanimous participation and is ready to be presented to the nation within a few days," Shafiqul Alam added.
