5 die as bus crushes three vehicles on Dhaka-Mawa Expressway

Five people were killed and 10 others injured after a bus crushed three vehicles at the Dhaleshwari toll plaza on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in Munshiganj on Friday morning, December 27.

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Sreenagar Fire Station official Dewan Azad said a speedy bus of ‘Bepari Paribahan’ hit a private car, a microbus, and a motorcycle from behind waiting to pay toll, leaving one dead on the spot and 14 others injured.

Among the injured, four died on the way to Dhaka.

Hasara police station’s officer-in-charge Abdul Quader Jilani said efforts are underway to remove the damaged vehicles from the road.
