4 die as truck rams auto-rickshaw in M’singh

Four people were killed and two others injured after a truck rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Mymensingh’s Tarakanda on Thursday morning, December 26.

Among the dead, two were identified as Bidya Mia, 42, and Lovely Akter, 18, wife of Rafiqul Islam, from Bahadurpur village in Netrakona’s Sadar.

Tarakanda police station’s officer-in-charge Md Tipu Sultan said a speedy truck hit a Mymensingh-bound CNG-run auto-rickshaw from Netrakona in Gastala area around 7:30am, leaving two passengers of the latter vehicle dead on the spot and four others injured.

Later, the locals rescued the injured and sent them to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, he added.
