1 killed, 15 injured in Munshiganj road accidents due to dense fog

A man was killed and at least 15 others were injured after several vehicles collided on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in Munshiganj on Sunday, December 22, due to dense fog.

The deceased, identified as Farhad, was a private car driver, and his body has been kept at the Sreenagar upazila health complex, according the Hasara police station.

Locals and sources in the Fire Service and Civil Defence said several buses, private cars and pickup vans collided on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway in different places of Sreenagar and Sirajdikhan upazilas between the early hours of today and 9:00am due to thick fog, leaving vehicular movement suspended which came to normal around 10:00am.

Later, the Fire Service personnel rescued 15 people from different spots and sent them to various hospitals, said Abul Kalam Azad, in-charge of Sreenagar Fire Service.
