Rallies banned in Uttara, Turag for indefinite period
In the aftermath of a deadly clash over control of the Tongi Ijtema Maidan that left three people dead, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed an indefinite ban on all meetings, rallies, processions, and protests in parts of Uttara and Turag.
The affected areas include Kamarpara, Abdullahpur, Uttara Sector-10, and the southwest region adjacent to the Turag River.
DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali confirmed the decision to Jago News on Wednesday (December 18) afternoon, stating that the restrictions will remain in place until further notice.
