Hasnat shown arrested in Gulshan attack case
Hasnat Karim ex-teacher of North South University (NSU), who survived at Gulshan Holey Artisan Bakery, was shown arrested in a case field with the terrorist attack at Gulshan on July 1.
Monirul Islam, head of the counter-terrorism unit confirmed that Hasnat, a discharged teacher of the North South University, who had been shown arrested under suspicion has now been implicated in Holey Artisan attack.
The policemen sought permission at a Dhaka court to interrogate the UK citizen for 10 days on Saturday.
Along with another survivor Tahmid Hasib Khan, Hasnat was previously placed on an eight-day remand on August 4.
Monirul said the police had also filed another petition to question Tahmid for seven more days.
However, Tahmid, a permanent resident of Canada, has not yet been shown arrested for the cafe attack.
Terrorist killed 22 people, including foreigners and policemen, when they attacked an upmarket restaurant at the heart of Dhaka’s diplomatic zone on July 1. The 11-hour standoff ended after commandos stormed into the cafe and killed the hostage-takers.
