4 more dengue patients die, 444 hospitalised in 24 hrs

Four more dengue patients died and 444 were hospitalised in the country in the last 24 hours.

With this, a total of 97,603 dengue cases and 536 deaths from the mosquito-borne disease were reported from January 1 to December 11 this year, a Directorate General of Health Services press release said on Wednesday.

Of the dead, two were from Dhaka North City Corporation, one from Dhaka South City Corporation, and another from Chattogram, according to the release.

Last year, the country recorded 1,705 deaths from the disease which was the highest fatality in a year.

Besides, 3,21,179 dengue cases were reported in the same year.
