Cadman appointed special prosecutor adviser to ICT chief prosecutor
Toby Cadman, a prominent human rights lawyer and joint head of the London-based law firm Guernica 37, has been appointed as a special prosecutorial adviser to the International Crimes Tribunal's Chief Prosecutor, Mohammad Tajul Islam.
"I am delighted and deeply honored to announce that I have been appointed as a Special Prosecutorial Adviser to the International Crimes Tribunal Bangladesh," Cadman posted on his X account, formerly Twitter, at 9:45 pm on Wednesday (Bangladesh time).
In a separate post, Cadman’s law firm, Guernica 37, stated: “The role of the Special Prosecutorial Adviser will be to advise the Chief Prosecutor on all matters related to the International Crimes Tribunal. The Tribunal is a domestic instrument established under the International Crimes (Tribunals) Act 1973.”
Notably, the interim government appointed Supreme Court Advocate Mohammad Tazul Islam as the Chief Prosecutor of the tribunal on September 7 to oversee its cases.
