Yunus in Secretariat for first time, chairs advisory council meeting
The first meeting of the interim government's advisory council was held at the Secretariat on Wednesday, chaired by Chief Advisor Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus. This marks Yunus’s first official visit to the Secretariat since assuming the position of Chief Adviser.
Yunus arrived at the Secretariat around 11 am and proceeded directly to his office on the 13th floor of the Secretariat’s 6th building, where the Advisory Council meeting took place in the Cabinet Room.
Previously, Advisory Council meetings were held at the State Guesthouse Jamuna and the Chief Adviser's office.
Security measures at the Secretariat were heightened in anticipation of the Chief Adviser's visit. Law enforcement personnel were stationed at the entry and exit gates, as well as inside the premises. The area around the 6th building was also secured, with no vehicles allowed to park nearby.
During the meeting, the draft of the International Crimes Tribunal Ordinance, 2024, is expected to be approved.
