Desh TV managing director Arif arrested at airport

Arif Hasan, the managing director of private television channel Desh TV, was arrested by the DB police at Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday night.

Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media and public relations) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), confirmed the arrest, stating that Arif was taken to the DB office on Minto Road in the capital.

Sources said that he was shown as arrested in connection with an attempted murder case filed at the Airport Police Station on July 19.

Arif is also serving as the Secretary General of the executive committee of the Association of Television Channel Owners (ATCO).
