Father attempts suicide after killing 2 sons in Pallabi

A man identified as Md Ahad, 40, allegedly killed his two sons by slitting their throats before attempting to take his own life in the Pallabi area of Dhaka on Saturday. Police later rescued him and sent him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The names of the deceased children have not yet been identified. Both were boys, aged seven and three years old.

Sub-Inspector Majedul of Pallabi Police Station provided the details. 

He said, "This morning, we received information that two children were killed by slitting their throats in a house at Baigartek, Pallabi. The father then attempted suicide by slashing his own throat with a knife. Police rescued the man and sent him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital."

SI Majedul further added, "Preliminary evidence suggests that Ahad used a sharp knife to kill his sons before trying to take his own life. Police are still at the scene, and an investigation is ongoing."
