2 killed as motorcycle loses control in Ctg

Two people were killed after the motorcycle they were on lost control and crashed into an electric pole on the Elevated Expressway in the Freeport area of EPZ Thana, Chattogram, around 12:00 am on Saturday.

The deceased were identified as Md Moktar, 28, and Md Rubel, 36, both from the Sadarghat area of the city.

According to police and fire service sources, the two young men were riding a motorcycle recklessly from Patenga towards Lal Khan Bazaar around midnight on Friday. The motorcycle lost control and collided with an electric pole on the expressway. Both riders were thrown off and died at the scene. Fire service and police rushed to the spot, recovered the bodies, and sent them to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

Mohammad Akhtaruzzaman, Officer-in-Charge of the EPZ Police Station, confirmed the incident, stating that the motorcycle hit an electric pole on the elevated expressway, resulting in the fatalities.
