Adapt charter to contemporary needs, Kamal tells reform commission

Constitutional expert Dr Kamal Hossain has urged the Constitution Reform Commission to modernise the nation's constitution. 

This recommendation was made during a meeting with commission members met Dr Kamal at his chamber in Motijheel on Saturday, (November 2).

The delegation, led by Professor Ali Riaz, the head of the commission, focused on the process of constitutional reform. 

Dr Kamal welcomed the members and expressed confidence in their efforts, emphasising the importance of adapting the constitution to contemporary needs.

Present at the meeting were commission members Professor Sumaiya Khair, Barrister Imran Siddique, Professor Mohammad Ikramul Haque, Dr Sharif Bhuiyan, Barrister M Moin Alam Ferozi, Firoz Ahmed, and Md Mustain Billah.

Dr Kamal Hossain served as the head of the Constitution Drafting Committee of the Bangladesh Constituent Assembly in 1972.
