A 26-year-old woman, Ayesha Akter, was killed on Wednesday afternoon amid a gunfight between rival drug peddler groups in Dhaka's Pallabi area.

According to Inspector Md Adil of Pallabi Police Station, the clash occurred around 3:30 pm near the Lalmati Tempo stand in Mirpur-11, reportedly to assert control over the area and instill fear.

Ayesha, who was inside a nearby building, was tragically struck in the head by a stray bullet when she looked out from a staircase window, leading to her immediate death.

Authorities have recovered her body and sent it to the hospital morgue for an autopsy. Police are currently investigating the incident.
