8 districts get new DCs

In a major reshuffle, the interim government has assigned new deputy commissioners to eight districts.

The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification on Wednesday (October 30), appointing the DCs to Joypurhat, Rajshahi, Rajbari, Sirajganj, Kushtia, Dinajpur, Shariatpur and Natore.

Afroza Akter Chowdhury, deputy head of the Planning Division, has been appointed to Joypurhat, Afia Akhtar, zonal settlement officer at Chattogram Land Record and Survey Department, to Rajshahi, Mohammad Jahidul Islam Mia, deputy secretary at the Ministry of Shipping, to Rajbari, and Muhammad Nazrul Islam, additional director at the Directorate of Government Accommodation, to Sirajganj as deputy commissioners.

Md Toufiqur Rahman, deputy secretary at the Finance Division, Md Rafiqul Islam, deputy secretary at the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, Mohammad Ashraf Uddin, director at the Neuro-Development Disabilities Protection Trust, and Asma Shaheen, deputy secretary at the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, have been made DCs to Kushtia, Dinajpur, Shariatpur, and Natore respectively.
