Minimum hajj cost set at Tk 4.78 lakh
The government announced two Hajj packages for next year, including a more affordable option.
Under Package-1, pilgrims can perform Hajj for Tk 4,78,242 — Tk 1,09,145 less than this year’s cost for the same package. Package-2 is priced at Tk 5,75,680.
This year’s general package cost Tk 5,87,387, with a special package priced at Tk 9,36,320. Notably, there will be no special package in 2025.
Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain made the announcement at a press conference at the Secretariat.
Hajj, scheduled for June 5, 2025, will see 1,27,198 pilgrims from Bangladesh — with 10,000 under government management and the rest through private agencies.
Key points from the adviser include:
Private Package Price: The general private Hajj package price is Tk 4,83,156. Agencies may offer additional special packages.
Essential Expenses: Pilgrims need 40,000 Saudi Riyals for food and 750 Saudi Riyals for Qurbani.
Accommodation Standards: Both government packages offer rooms accommodating up to six people, with attached baths, within 3 km of Haram Sharif in Makkah for Package-1 and 1.5 km for Package-2. Private packages offer similar amenities.
Medical and Travel Support: Free medicines and first-aid services will be provided by the Bangladesh government in Makkah, Madinah, and Jeddah. Each group of 46 pilgrims will be assigned a Hajj guide.
Transport Arrangements: Pilgrims will travel by bus from Makkah to the Mina tent area and by train between Mina, Arafah, and Muzdalifah.
Package-specific details:
Package-1: Includes accommodations within 3 km of Haram Sharif, tent placement in Green Zone-5 at Mina, and “D” category services in Mina and Arafah.
Package-2: Includes accommodations within 1.5 km of Haram Sharif and tent placement in Yellow Zone-II at Mina, with upgraded “D” category services.
Additional Information:
Visa Process: Hajj visas will start from February 19, 2025, with flights commencing on April 29.
Currency Impact: The price of the Saudi Riyal has increased by Tk 2.76 (9.28%) compared to the last Hajj season, affecting overall package costs.
Registration: Preliminary Hajj registration, which began on September 1, will continue until November 30 without extension. Pilgrims must pay Tk 3 lakh for initial registration and the remainder within the specified timeframe.
So far, only 9,315 pilgrims have registered, with the rest potentially waiting for official package announcements.
