Army raids Geneva Camp in Mohammadpur

The Geneva Camp area in Mohammadpur, Dhaka, has recently turned into a hotspot for crime, with daily incidents involving shootings, drug dealers, and other criminals. To curb crime and restore peace for the residents of Geneva Camp and the Mohammadpur area, the Bangladesh Army launched a raid on Monday at 11:00 pm, supported by the Mohammadpur Police Station.

The army detained seven individuals from Geneva Camp, along with locally made weapons. 

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the 46th Independent Brigade of the Bangladesh Army, in collaboration with the police, conducted joint raids in Mohammadpur on October 27, resulting in the arrest of 22 individuals. Those detained include murder suspects, robbers, extortionists, and members of juvenile gangs.

The ISPR further stated that, in light of the current situation of the country, the Bangladesh Army is working professionally across the country to ensure public safety, protect vital state establishments, control law and order, prevent extrajudicial activities, and uphold the rule of law. The army is committed to maintaining a strong stance in combating terrorism and improving the law-and-order situation.
