Secretary Jahangir Alam sent on forced retirement
Md Jahangir Alam, a member of the Planning Commission, has been sent into forced retirement. The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification regarding his retirement on Sunday (October 27).
The notification states that Jahangir Alam, who served as a Secretary in the Planning Commission, has completed 25 years of government service. The government deemed it necessary, in the public interest, to retire him from government service. Consequently, he has been retired under the authority granted by Section 45 of the Government Service Act, 2018.
The notification also mentioned that he would be entitled to retirement benefits as per regulations. Previously, Jahangir Alam served as Secretary of the Health Services Division in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. On August 20, he was transferred to the Planning Commission as a member.
