6 of a family burnt in fire caused by gas line leak

Six members of a family sustained burn injuries in a fire that broke out due to a gas pipeline leak at a house in the Dahargaon area of Rupganj, Narayanganj, on Friday night. 

The injured are Md Babul Hossain, 47; Sheli Akter, 36; Munni Akter, 20; Md Jewel, 22; Md Ismail, 16; and Taslima Akter, 13. They were admitted to the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (SHNIBPS) and are all in critical condition.

Md Jewel Rana, who took the injured to the hospital, said that all the injured work at a garment factory in Rupganj. They sustained burn injuries in the fire that broke out while lighting a mosquito coil in the house at night.

Md Tariqul Islam, a resident doctor at the hospital, said that six members of the family from Rupganj in Narayanganj were burnt in the fire and came to the hospital. They sustained injuries when a fire broke out in the room due to a gas line leak. The condition of the six burn victims is critical, with over 55 percent of their bodies affected by burns.
