Former EC secretary Helal Uddin arrested

The police arrested former Election Commission secretary Helal Uddin in Chattogram on Wednesday evening.

He was apprehended in Tulatuli area under Khulshi police station area, said the police station's officer-in-charge, Fazlul Quader Chowdhury.

He was arrested in a case filed with a police station under the Dhaka Metropolitan Police and he will be handed over to the DMP, the OC added.

Helal Uddin served as the Election Commission Secretary during the 11th Jatiya Sangsad polls.
