No decision yet on President’s removal: CA’s press secy
Shafiqul Alam, Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, on Wednesday said that no decision has been made yet regarding the removal of the President. Any developments will be communicated, and if a meeting of the Council of Advisers takes place, you will be informed.
He made these remarks during a press briefing in front of Jamuna, the Chief Adviser’s residence, on Wednesday (October 23).
When asked if the Chief Adviser’s meeting with the BNP was related to the President's resignation, he responded, "Political parties are our partners. We are in dialogue with them, and there will be more meetings in the coming days. Today's meeting with the BNP is part of our ongoing dialogue with various political parties."
Regarding the visit of the US Chief of Affairs to the Chief Adviser’s office, Shafiqul clarified that it was a routine matter. He noted that discussions with at least 40 ambassadors have taken place in the past three months, and the media is regularly updated on these meetings.
In response to student protests demanding the President's resignation, Shafiqul mentioned that the government has requested protesters to vacate the area in front of Bangabhaban and that security measures around the area have been tightened since yesterday.
