A total of 252 Sub-Inspectors (SIs) undergoing training at the Bangladesh Police Academy in Sarada, Rajshahi, have been relieved of their duties due to disciplinary violations. In this regard, Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury stated that they were relieved not for political reasons but due to allegations of disciplinary misconduct.

The advisor made these remarks on Tuesday while responding to questions from journalists after a regular meeting of the Advisory Committee on Law and Order at the Home Ministry.

When asked whether the mass dismissal of 252 SIs in Sarada was due to any political involvement, the advisor replied, "This is due to disciplinary violations. However, I am not aware of the specifics of the violations. The Sarada Academy will be able to provide that information. They are the ones who made the decision. There is no political involvement in this matter."

The adviser said that during the meeting of the Advisory Committee on Law and Order, it was suggested that any protests or movements regarding demands should be held in Suhrawardy Udyan instead of blocking roads. Additionally, it was recommended that demands be submitted to the government in written form and that the government establish a specific committee to receive and address these demands.
