Students gather at Raju Monument to lay siege to High Court

Students are gathering at Raju Memorial Monument at Dhaka University with plans to lay siege to the High Court, demanding the resignation of judges they refer to as "friends of fascism."

The protest began around 10:30am on Wednesday (October 16), with students from Dhaka University and nearby educational institutions arriving from different halls and assembling at the foot of the Raju sculpture.

Chanting slogans such as "Surround the High Court," "We have shed blood and will shed more," "Injustice will be swept away in a flood of blood," "Tear down the hideouts of fascism," and "Hang murderers," the students are preparing to march towards the High Court to begin their siege.

The High Court siege programme was announced the previous day by the coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement.
