The government has imposed a foreign travel ban on suspended assistant commissioner of Lalmonirhat Tapashee Tabassum Urmi.

The Ministry of Public Administration sent a letter to the Security Services Division under the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday (October 14), instructing it to take necessary measures to enforce the ban.

In a recent Facebook post, Tapashee wrote, “The chief adviser (Prof Yunus) of the interim government, which has no constitutional basis, said reset button has been pushed and pasts have been removed. He (Yunus) erased all the pasts and histories of the country clicking the reset button. Is it so easy! Your (Yunus) countdown has started.”

The assistant commissioner also gave several other posts taking stance in favour of the Awami League-led government ousted by the student-people mass uprising.

Following the remarks, the government first made her an Officer on Special Duty, OSD, and later, suspended her.
