The Electoral System Reform Commission will identify the irregularities and anomalies in the three Jatiya Sangsad elections held during Awami League regime, said the commission's chief, Dr Badiul Alam Majumdar.

He, also the secretary of Sushasoner Jonno Nagorik, Sujan, informed this after a meeting with the Election Commission secretaries and others concerned at Nirbachan Bhaban in Dhaka's Agargaon on Monday (October 14).

Badiul Alam was asked what priorities the commission will give in case of the last three elections, he replied, "We will find out the irregularities and breaches that have occurred. If something good happens, we will identify them, too."

Whether the commission will make any recommendations for taking measures against those involved in the irregularities, he said, "We will have recommendations. However, the time has not yet come to say this. We will also review the matters relating to the commission (election) and its officials."

Anyone can share their opinions about election to the commission and it will review them to make such recommendations so that holding a fair and neutral election is ensured, he added.
