Met office forecasts light to moderate rain over country

Bangladesh Meteorological Department, BMD on Saturday forecasted light to moderate rain at different places across the country for the next 24 hours from 9:00am today.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy falls at some places over the country", it said.

Monsoon trough runs through Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh.

Monsoon is less active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay.

Country's maximum temperature on Friday was recorded 35.4 degrees Celsius at Sayedpur and minimum temperature today was recorded 23.4 degrees Celsius at Tetulia.

Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 30 millimeters (mm) at Hatiya.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The sun sets at 05:35pm today and rises at 05:55am tomorrow in the capital.
