Mahmudur Rahman sues Hasina, 45 others over attack on him
Daily Amar Desh editor Mahmudur Rahman has filed a case against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 45 others over the attack on him at a court premises in Kushtia in 2018.
Other accused in the case include former inspector general of police, Mohammad Zabed Patwary, former superintendent of police in Kushtia Mehidy Hasan, the police station’s former officer-in-charge Nasir Uddin, and Awami League and its associate bodies’ leaders and activists.
He filed the case with Kushtia model police station on Thursday afternoon, said OC Mahfuzur Haque Chowdhury.

“I have filed a case over the attack on me naming 46 people. I demand exemplary punishment to those involved in the incident,” Mahmudur Rahman told the journalists in reply to a query.
On July 22, 2018, the then acting editor of Amar Desh, Mahmudur Rahman, came under attack and received injuries while leaving a court premises in Kushtia after securing bail in a defamation case filed against him. Later, he managed to leave the scene on an ambulance.
