Train kills mother, daughter in Dinajpur

A women and her teen-age daughter were crushed under the wheels of a running train near Barapukuria Coal-Fired Power Station under Parbatipur upazila of Dinajpur district on Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Saroswati Rani, 45, wife of Nibas Chandra of Rajarampur-Machupara village under Phulbari upazila of the district and her daughter Falguni Rani, 15, a student of class nine.

Sub inspector of Parbatipur Railway police M Anisur Rahman said that the accident took place in 364/2 rail gate area this morning. But it yet to be confirmed how the accident occurred.

However, police suspected that they jumped under the wheels of a Parbatipur-bound goods-laden train following a family feud.

An unnatural death case was filed in this connection.
