Salman F Rahman placed on fresh 7-day remand
A Dhaka court has placed Salman F Rahman, the former private industry and investment adviser to former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, on a fresh seven-day remand in two separate cases.
Dhaka Senior Judicial Magistrate M Saiful Islam on Wednesday granted a four-day remand in a case filed at the Nawabganj police station for the attempted murder of students, as well as a three-day remand in a case filed at the Dohar police station for the same offense.
Previously, police had presented him before the court, requesting a seven-day remand for each of the two cases.
On August 13, Salman was arrested in the Sadarghat area of the capital during an alleged escape attempt. The following day, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Mamunur Rashid placed him on a 10-day remand in a case filed for the killing of shop staff Shahjahan Ali in the New Market area.
