Abdul Kuddus, the chairman of Shimulia Union Parishad, stated that after studying the Quran at the Shimulia Kuthipara Jam-e-Masjid, they were returning home. While crossing the Kushtia-Rajbari regional road, a speeding microbus hit them, causing it to fall into a nearby pond. As a result, one child died at the scene, and three others were recovered and rushed to the hospital, where the doctors declared them dead.

Confirming the incident, Akul Chandra Biswas, the officer in charge of Kushtia Highway Police, said that agitated locals have blocked the Kushtia-Rajbari regional highway.
