President, PM pay tribute to Syed Mohsin Ali
President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid their last tributes to late Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsan Ali at South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban on Wednesday.
The President and the Prime Minister placed floral wreaths on the coffin of the deceased and stood in solemn silence for some times as a mark of respect to the valiant freedom fighter, dedicated social worker and popular leader.
Earlier, the the namaz-e-janaza of late Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsin Ali was held at South Plaza participated by President Abdul Hamid, cabinet members, parliament members, senior leaders of Awami League and 14 party combine and a large number of people from all walks of life.
After the janaza a `guard of honour` was given to Mohsin Ali, a valiant freedom fighter of 1971.
Sheikh Hasina, also the president of Bangladesh Awami League, also placed a floral wreath on the coffin along with party`s general secretary Syed Ashraful Islam.
Later, Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury, Chief Whip and Whips of the Jatiya Sangsad and JSD leader Moinuddin Khan Badal showed their last tribute to Mohsin Ali.
Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury paid tribute to Mohsin Ali on behalf of the Deputy Leader of the Jatiya Sangsad Syeda Sajeda Chowdhury while Jatiya Party Leader Ruhul Amain Hawlader and state minister for LGRD Moshiur Rahman Ranga placed floral wreath to Mohsin Ali for Leader of the Opposition.
Finally, munazat was offered seeking salvation of the departed soul. Pesh Imam of the Jatiya Sangsad Mosque AN Ibrahim conducted the janaza and munazat.
Social Welfare Minister Syed Mohsin Ali, a parliament member from Srimongal of Moulavibazar district, died in a Singapore Hospital Monday last.
