3 of a family burnt in fire from gas line leak

Three members of a family, including a child, were burnt in a fire that broke out due to a gas line leak in their house at Shukrabad Bazar area in the capital around 4:00 am on Saturday.

The injured are Mohammad Tuton, 35; his wife, Nipa Akter, 30; and their son, Md Baizid, 3. They were admitted to the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (SHNIBPS).

Md Tariqul Islam, a resident doctor at SHNIBPS, said that the three members of the family, including the three-year-old child, are currently undergoing treatment in the hospital. We have learned that the fire was caused by a gas leak.

He further stated that Tuton suffered 50% burn injuries, Nipa 32%, and their child Baizid 45%. They are in critical condition.
