Biden expresses full support for interim government

US President Joe Biden held a bilateral meeting with the chief advisor of Bangladesh's interim government, Muhammad Yunus, reaffirming America's full support for the Yunus-led administration.

The meeting took place on Tuesday, September 24, at 11 a.m. (local time) at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

This marks a historic moment, as no Bangladeshi head of state or government has had such high-level talks with a US president in the past three decades.

The relationship between the US and Bangladesh has strengthened following recent political changes in Bangladesh.

A high-level meeting is expected soon, building on the momentum of a recent US delegation’s visit to Dhaka. 

Discussions in New York touched on various issues, including the development of bilateral relations.
